HCS Greenhouse and Nursery Plant Production Course Requirements

The Greenhouse and Nursery Plant Production concentration focuses on the production, utilization, and maintenance of trees, flowers, annuals, perennials, shrubs, and house plants. We offer unique opportunities to study a wide range of plant life in the micro climates that exist close to campus. Students obtain a solid understanding of the science behind, and the practical application of, how plants grow, how to propagate them, which plants are best adapted to a specific environment, precision growing, hydroponics, and how to maintain these plants. This concentration offers a technical education, grounded in science, which prepares students to not only meet the demands of industry, but to help lead the way.
